Seal Class Submarine Proposal

 Introduction

There is and has been a lot of  discussion around a  new Submarine Project for Australia. The USA and UK have proposed a quite  bizarre,  kind of strategy that Australia must and will comply and has history knows, what UK says ,we follow, like good fello's. After all UK the Military Fortress and with a very military Royal family as InWW11 we did what Churchill told us, like turning troopships of tired  soldiers around back into conflict and we complied.We appear still have that mentality.

As we are part pf the Commonwealth, King Charles111 will probably sign off without question, as did his mother, on Iraq and Afghanistan. Australia, do as you are told and pay up, when invoiced by :UK or USA

A little Mason history is necessary,has I go back quite a while, 90 years young, August 2025 but not 'brain dead', just a little unsteady on my legs like past President Biden.

My first encounter with submarines, was ages 11-12! a private in the Gloucester regiment of Army Cadets, under age I think,.A day.trip,on camp to a Sub: base in Weymouth, Down the Hatch and that was OK, but when I heard the Hatch closed and locked, Mason went off his little head and they quickly put me outside, not off the Sub,but a kind of charge for being silly---whew never again it was cold out there on that deck.

Years later my brother in law became a Sub Mariner and loved it. what class of machine he never said of course. Still proud of UK's military, particularly the Navy. Out of it now of course. Talking to him it is clear that USA sailors are no more intelligent than most other nationalities and they are all quite capable of operating Nuclear machines with the same training. Just like Jet Pilots or power station operatives, complicated possibly  but mostly computor activated and controlled.

Years later I was to be active in criticising the Collins Class build, Swedish designed machine .A white water Submarine for Blue water operation. A disaster to say the least. At the moment I hear they are not operational and do not have Captains- Top Naval Brass should be should  down, with immediate effect.

What is a Submarine?, for this I go back to the late 1960's. Mason was with Chrysler in the UK.

All the top advertising people from around the World, Detroit New York etc, were gathered in London, complete with the Chrysler CEO. On the agenda was budget etc for advertising the groups "COMPACT VANS' and they droned on about the differences and advantages of this or that van. I whispered to my American boss of Truck Strategies, that they were hopeless, he smiled in his mid American way and stood up .Yes Jack said the chair,. Malcolm Mason my big gun on Vans and Trucks, would like to say something. Down the path, to what I thought would be my demise and up to the podiem. 

My words where I think. We should start from basic's -- WHAT IS VAN, once we know that the rest will follow.--------Silence, then came the a response,OK Mac please go on.. Ad libing I went on to say there must be parameters, like Wheel base;Position of the wheels;Engine sizes and position,Door and floor arrangements. plus other items I don't remember. Excellent Malcolm and the discussion changed course ,ending the chair advising what we need is a good market research report.

Yes a Company was chosen and an extensive Worldwide survey was achieved. I still have that survey.

The result was the parameters of the van as we know it today World Wide. First Renault; Citroen; Mercedes Benz:Ford Transit;VW. and all these years later came Toyota and now Mitsubishi (The Chrysler associate). First with the strategy but last with the Mason concept, born in London.

What has all this to do with submarines. I say today "WHAT IS A SUBMARINE", because compared with the current designs of what I call the 'Walrus"Class, big and cumbersom and possibly not fit for purpose, we shall see. The male Walrus of course has very big teeth and very powerful, but still a lumbering, giant of a sea animal. Today's subs are just that. Remember the Falklands. The Delgrado! a German built battle ship, came out of harbour. The UK Nuclear powered etc Walrus submarine squared up slowly with it (making sure the QE11 was out of range)   Without warning sent off a torpedo or two and sank her there and then Over 600 Argentinian lives were sencelesly sacrificed . 

At the moment my pigeon post indicated that UK is back there, updating no doubt.

I will propose the Mason Strategy and my thoughts for the future and the parameters required.

The Seal Class machine should be extremely dangerous and we will need at least TEN.to protect our cities and infrastructure. It would be smaller than current designs, with, Seal performance of speed and mobility. The French design of course is the best and ( Cost per Tonne) at the moment and could be well have been on the way by now had we been our own masters.

The operational strategy would be identify threat.attack and get out at high speed; agile at good depth and virtually undetectable. This of course is my new idaea.

WHAT IS A SUBMARINE; The market survey, is the tricky one, In the here and now, I do not have a sample target, so I will have to be the sample. MY original ideas, not any one elses

Size   ---Length 14 to16 M    Beam 3 to 4 M    Height 3M including auxillary rudder.   .

Materials--- Balistic Aluminium skin with inner shield multi stich fabric as in tank outer  body armour. French and Italian, I have samples

Internal structure Timber and hard non flamable plastic

Normal Propulsion- Nuclear using non military grade. Back up Electric.

 Extensive use of Ceramics

 Each one hidden in pens like theold German UBoats and the Atlantic,out of Portugal ww2                      .With water jct propulsion and rear rocket powered propulsion, would have the best Seal like agility.

Torpedo's would be pencil thin rocket powered and capable of  exiting the water some distance from the Submarine ie both sea and air capability

Like a Seal or  a large fish, it would articulated in three parts. Forward;Middle and  Rear. The join need not be waterproof but with a centre Spine, for communication, again like a fish,easy!!.

That's it really  the deadly machine of the future which Australia could  design and build.

COST- For TEN, about  half of what the current proposal,. a project that will end up, with Australia paying the developement bill and still not have FULL control over their OPERATION

Yes Ladies and Gentlemen,a machine designed  and built by us. Helped possibly by the French , plus any machines they have to sell or lend.!!!! in the interim. The same for USA!!!

 Ukraine--Provocateur --Revisited

 Right from the beginning, the story did not quite gel.

Ukraine the Provocateur, definetly YES

Russia required Ukraine as the BUFFER Zone between it and EU/NATO,-Yes

Since the second World War Russia was Ukranes MAIN Trading  partner.--Absolutly

Ukraine wanted to change from Russia to EU/NATO, Again- Yes

Russia said NO.

Starting some time agoe Ukraine began Baiting the Russian Bear, and has never let up. Daily the President  broad cast to the people, telling them stories mostly true some definately not. Under Marshall law the people listened, but there is little they could do. 

Russia hit back hard, but basically avoided the Capital and its many government buildings, including the Presidential building and the President. .They have also avoided hitting grain shipments to the World.

So we had a Ukraine President, really thinking America  EU/ NATO etc were assisting , a Conflict between itself and Russia and I tended to agree in part- But things were not right all.

Meetings of EU's Foreign Ministers and all sorts of other organisations were and are convened and all ANTI Russia and in particular President Putin.

THE NOW- A dear friend who does not read my writings, one day recently casually commented , well Mal I think its a PROXY  CONFLICT. Goodness my little grey cells, started working overtime and like a good mistry it  began to make sense this Catastrophy that is Ukraine and the Actions of its Inexpierienced  President..

The Substitute or Pawn,if it is  A PROXY WAR , is Ukraine itself, being used blatently by the UN; USA; UK; EU;NATO ;Sweden;Poland etc etc. The list is long  and on the same page-" Blame Russia for every thing that is not to their misguided and sometimes quite stupid reasons'

It would appear- All that Russia wants is the buffer zone to be maintained, and maintained it will be, whether President Putin is in power or not.

Ukraine continues  to Bait the  Russian Bear and so the conflict will continue.

Australia supplied Personnel carriers,; USA supply small missile launchers, as did Russia, earlier, enabling them to shoot down a Malaysian Airliner,Germany though collective guilt, offered Tanks and returning the era to the sound of German fire power not to mention churning up the roads and firelds, already damaged by Ukraines, own fire power, They are damaging their own people and infra- structure' of eastern Ukraine.;Poland the historical worst of Ex Nazi concentration camps, still regards parts of  Ukraine as Poland; The UK my country of birth, Well ,is UK as ever, with Brexit is even more misguided, than the rest.; France, I am surprised that they have joined the flow- To share supply of shells (Ammunition) with Australia, so that Ukraine be even more of a nousence. They will fire off until the gun barrels are de-Rifled, bent and use less. .

President Biden skips to the podiem in  Poland, out side in the cold and really gave the game away, smiling has he did it.. USA will support Ukraine, (at a minimal level!), for the moment. He had just visited Kyiv, by train and walked out side with a visibly nervous Zelenskyy , giving the President a hug, a very personal thing for Biden.. Oh dear.

Ukraine revisited.-- Little has changed, Kyiv's main city buildings are intact, The Railways are running and Grain probably  being shipped  via Odessa, Invasion, is a !!!!!!,Conflict yes and as Silvio Berlusconi the Italian Media Magnet said the war could be stopped , if Ukraine stopped their continued shelling etc of Eastern Ukraine, I heartily agree.

Come on World , get real. We out here are not stupid and are beginning to question your real motives.and maybe just maybe realising it really is a PROXY conflict and Ukraine the Substitute or Pawn.

From Whence I Came----Recent events

It would appear that the original blog "From Whence I Came" published Nov 16 2022, requires Mason's examples of  each  of the three 'Nation People' categories. Events of the past few weeks provides good examples. -----------------------A short interlude!!. I went out to the garage to find a an item I needed and gong up the veranda steps and bang, I tripped, leg and arm busted open, so here I am again, to have my say.

First Nation People--   They have been around the Continent and its islands for a very long time. They exsisted off the land and sea,in relatively small groups. Hunter Gathers, artists and sheltered in caves; rock overhangs and make shift timber covers. (Now know as  'Gunya's,!)

Fast forward to the now . 2022. We have Elders and Aunties and just a few  Politicion's, and professional Doctors and the like. Regretfully I see no real progress in the Law (Magistrates-Judges etc); Senior Police or Military Officers.  Why not because the Second Nation People are in charge.

I don't believe First Nation People need a Voice in Parliament, but a SAY in running Australia and the only way to do that is in the Constitution and elected members of Parliament. 

The referendum the Prime Minister witters on about a Voice, which  gives them very little progress. 

The way it is, right now it is give give  and First Nation always wants more and more, a bit like Ukraine. The Aboriginal  flag flies on public buildings, indicating their wish for reconition.

Come on First Nation, get in their and mix it Politically---In Force by political stealth.. There are a few but all too silent as in the next category.Thus get involved in the politics and those already in, Stand  Up and be Counted,in Parliament. A Voice means little- 'A SAY" does.

Second Nation People - The Nation Builders. 

They were at first and for a long time,complete bastards, to all and every one.  "From whence they came', we must remember was, terrible conditions of poverty.and degradation of the common man.     They could be dead in door ways,frozen to death, executed and place on Holloway jail wall for collection , later children taken from single mothers and sent to the colonies- Europes Stolen Children.

Gradually, conditions improved for the English and Irish in particular, but not for the First Nation  People and kin many ways,they are still victimised, by Magistrates and their ilk. Who still have the power to relentlessly sentence unfairly and the Government does nothing about it. We now have a situation where appeasement has gone too far, with Councils, giving away buildings and facilities, belonging to the general public. plus of course the use of strange names, particularly by the ABC. Even eminent people like Phillip Adam's uses an aboriginal place name from where he broadcasts (Altimo!!). 

OK lets turn to, Alice Springs, where  youngsters are apparantly running riot and upsetting everyone, off goes the Prime Minister Mr Albanese, trying to look like one of the people,with open shirt and a country Hat. . In speech saying he is going to sort it out, and there once again , it is a Second Nation people sorting out a first nation problem. In the background is  Ken Dodson, the Senator, just sitting there and saying nothing, when he should be out on the Alice Spring streets, talking to the people. He should been at the podiem having the Aboriginal "SAY". Until they get more people in parliament, there is little that can be done- So look lively the likes of Ken Dodson.

Ah Ah, A good one Mr Dodson, at last, "A seat in Cabinet proposed ' Yes, absolutely,as long as it is earned and not given---Hope On.

Moral of this section. Appeasement OK but in moderation, please, on Giving things away, try to advise First Nation People that they are Australian too

Third Nation People-.The Avoriceous Preditors of the Nations resources. They both are both Australian and Foreign owned Companies, run by  Australians , but mostly by Foreign Nations, with Foreign, HQ's to answer to. It really amounts the Rape of Australia's resources. 

Australia does very little to control them and never uses the LEASE retention, on companies who misbehave, and misbehalve they do.

Let take Rio Zinco, as an example. Remember the Cave and water degredation. No problem its only a matter of money, in the right direction., . That's how it is MONEY it seemed to me. On the rape of our resources the First Nation People and anyone else for that matter, are relatively quiet-again MONEY.  sod the future. My blog 'Earth the Finite Planet' published September2012, says it all and was sent to World Leaders of the day.

Was it only last week Rio Tinto lost in transit a Radio Active Capciual. We no not what base radio active material it was, but not apparantly in a lead lined contianer, or even sent in a secure vehicle. the item was found. 

Rio would have gone ihto Damage Control and their PR stated they would pay for the search, I bet!. Once again they will get away with it with MONEY. Dependig on the sort of isotope it is, the Federal Government should ,fine them most vigorously. Will Albanese fire up and do the right thing--I doublt it.

These are my thoughts, on Australia, as it is today.
